Use up leftover baguettes with this simple, kid-friendly starter. Crispy, golden and delicious, Crostini is the perfect summertime canapé, served with a cool glass of bubbly.

Serves Makes 15-20


  • 1 baguette
  • hillfarm cold pressed rapeseed oil
  • Topping of your choice (try our recipes for hummus, red lentil dip or wild garlic pesto)


  1. Preheat oven to 120ºC
  2. Cut the baguette into 1-1.5cm slices and lay on a baking tray.
  3. Brush both sides of each slice with a little hillfarm cold pressed rapeseed oil.
  4. Bake in the oven for approximately 15 -20 minutes, or until lightly golden, turning over once.
  5. Leave to cool before serving with a topping of your choice. It’s delicious with homemade hummus, red lentil dip or wild garlic pesto.
  6. Keep any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
